PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshman Mariel Papa has been named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today. Papa scored the game-winning goal against A-10 rival Temple in the Explorers 2-1 victory on Friday.

The goal was the first in the Berlin, N.J., native's collegiate career. As a freshman, Papa has seen action in all 15 games for the Explorers and has started in 10.

La Salle will visit Lock Haven on Friday at 3 PM.
