Explorers Finish Round One At Big Five Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - Junior Randy Kurzinsky shot a 75 (+5) to lead the La Salle golf team in the first round of the Big Five Invitational at Plymouth Country Club on Saturday. Kurzinsky is tied for 42nd place in the 109-player field.

After playing the first three holes three-over par, Kurzinsky steadied himself with four pars before a birdie on the par three seventh. He shot a two-over 38 on the back nine to finish strong.

Freshman Mike Johnson carded a seven-over 77, which placed him in a tie for 66th. He finished his round with a pair of birdies.

Another freshman, Chris Costantino, shot an 82 (+12). He had a three-over 39 on the back-nine.

Junior Tyler Batory and freshman Tommy Horgan each had 86s to round out the La Salle scorecard.

Furman leads the 21-team field with a three-over 283. Furman also has the top individual, Matthew Broome, who shot a four-under 66. He leads Dartmouth's Peter Williamson by two strokes.

Princeton (289), Villanova (291), Campbell (291) and St. John's (293) round out the top five.

The Explorers will tee off at 7:30 AM on Sunday at the par-70 PCC. Live stats will be available here.
