PHILADELPHIA - Junior cross country runner Stephanie Bearish has been named this week's La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week, based on a vote by the Office of Athletic Communications.

Bearish earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors with a fifth place individual finish at the conference championship on Saturday. She ran a 17:35 on the 5K course at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.

Bearish led the regionally fifth-ranked Explorer women to the conference silver, besting the Explorers' preseason prediction of fourth. She led a quintet of runners that all finished in the top 20.

Bearish was named La Salle's Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the first coming after the first race of the season where she led the team with a top 20 finish at Penn State's Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invite.

Bearish and the Explorers now take a weekend off in preparation for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Penn State.
