Frostbite Regatta Results
PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle rowing team finished up the fall portion of the schedule in style as four different Explorer boats captured first place in their respective races at the annual Frostbite Regatta.
Both novice four boats captured gold in their flights. The women bested West Virginia by 2.6 seconds in Flight 2 as they posted an 8:09.11. The men won by over four seconds, as they came out ahead of second-place Ithaca with a time of 7:03.02.
Also capturing first in its race was the men's varsity four boat. The Explorers raced a 6:10.48, finishing 2.5 seconds ahead of second place Rutgers-Camden.
The men's varsity eight 'A' boat put on a photo finish as the Explorers edged Saint Joseph's by three-tenths of a second. The Explorers clocked a 6:09.22 to the Hawks' 6:09.52.
The men's novice eight placed second in its flight with a time of 7:02.14. Delaware won the race in 6:41.94.
Several other boats were also in action including: men's JV eight (3rd; 6:17.74), women's novice eight (4th; 7:55.32), women's varsity four (3rd; 8:19.30), women's varsity eight 'A' (4th; 7:14.98), women's varsity eight 'B' (4th; 7:59.82) and men's varsity eight 'B' (5th; 6:47.48).
