PHILADELPHIA - Men's soccer rookie Jidell Roach was named the Soccer 6 Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 31. He shares the honor with Temple's Tyler Witmer.

Roach picked up the honor following a four-point game in the Explorers' 4-2 win at Rhode Island on Friday night. He had a hand in three of the four goals, scoring one and assisting on two others. His goal in the 72nd minute gave the team breathing room as he put the Blue & Gold up 4-2 for the eventual final score.

Roach assisted on Ryan Sepe's goal in the 27th minute which put the Explorers on top for good. He also assisted on the game's third goal, a Ryan Richter score which turned out to be the game winner.

The rookie is currently second on the team in points with 10 on the season on three goals and four assists. He is tied for the team lead in assists and tied for second in goals.

Roach and the rest of the Explorers return to action on Friday (11/5) when they host Xavier at 3:00 PM in McCarthy Stadium.
