The Explorers are looking for their first regular season tournament victory since 2004 when they do battle with #11/12 Missouri tonight on CBS College Sports. La Salle won the 2004 Dr. Pepper Classic in Chattanooga, TN with a victory over the hosts.
Last night, La Salle raced to a 18-point half-time advantage and defeated Big East foe Providence, 84-73. Reigning Big 5 Player of the Week Aaric Murray had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and scored 14 straight LU points in the second half to nearly single-handedly keep the Blue and Gold in the contest.
Junior Earl Pettis had his best game as an Explorer, scoring a career-high 18 points while senior Jerrell Williams added his 13th career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
#11/12 Missouri Tigers (3-0)

Missouri defeated Wyoming last night, 72-62, despite nearly coughing up a 15-point half-time advantage. The Tigers were led by Michael Dixon who scored a career-high 17 points in the victory.
Five Tigers are averaging double-figures, led by Marcus Denmon's 12.0 ppg. Dixon adds 11.0 ppg, as does Laurence Bowers. Kim English and Ricardo Ratliffe score 10.7 and 10.0 points per game, respectively.
Missouri won 23 games last season before falling to West Virginia in the NCAA Second Round.
