PHILADELPHIA - The official tournament seedings and pairings for the 2010 Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship were announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The Explorers, who earned a first-round bye with a second place finish in the regular season, will take on the highest-remaining seed in a semifinal game on Friday at 5:30 PM.
No. 18 Charlotte garnered the top seed and will play the lowest-remaining seed in Friday's second semifinal at 8:00 PM. Seeded third is Temple, followed by St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and Xavier. All matches will be held at Charlotte's Transamerica Field.
The title game of the 2010 A-10 Championship will be held Sunday, Nov. 14, at 1:00 PM.
La Salle enters this week's tournament on a six-game unbeaten streak as the Explorers went 5-0-1 down the stretch. They are also 8-2-1 in the past 11 games with shutouts of six Atlantic 10 opponents.
Ryan Richter leads the team and the league in scoring with 14 goals and two assists for 30 points. He added four goals - including a hat trick - in contests against Xavier and Dayton this past weekend. The La Salle defense, spearheaded by center back Nick Dundon and goalkeeper John McCarthy, has posted seven total shutouts including protecting four 1-0 scores.
Single day tickets are available for $6, while a three-day pass may be purchased for $15. Tickets will be available at the entrance to Transamerica Field.
