La Salle Hosts Bucknell On Friday Night

The Explorers begin a stretch of four straight at home when they host Bucknell on Friday night at 7 PM. La Salle has won 13 of its last 15 non-conference games at Tom Gola Arena and has won five of its last six overall in the gym.

Aaric Murray and Ruben Guillandeaux lead the team in scoring at 15.3 ppg. Murray currently has 99 blocks in 40 games. With one more block, he will become the fastest Explorer to 100 rejections. Lionel Simmons, the all-time leader at LU with 248, reached 100 in his 50th game.

Guillandeaux has made a three-pointer in his last 14 games and 18 of his last 19 and Jerrell Williams is averaging 18.7 ppg. over his last three contests.

The combined record of the four teams that have defeated La Salle is 32-3. Three of those teams (#9/9 Baylor, #10/11 Villanova, #13/12 Missouri) are ranked in the top 13 in both polls.

Bucknell Bison (4-6)
Conference: Patriot League

Bucknell arrives at La Salle with a 4-6 record and have won two straight. The Bison have three common opponents with La Salle in Villanova (68-52, L), Columbia (73-68, W) and Boston University (52-49, W). It is the first of four straight on the road for BU.

Mike Muscala leads the Bison in scoring (13.3 ppg.) and rebounding (5.8). G.W. Boon adds (11.1 ppg.) while local product Cameron Ayers (7.3 ppg.) is the reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

The Series
La Salle leads the series 17-4 and 10-0 at home. The two teams have met in the past four seasons and the Explorers have won two straight and five of six. Previously they met every season from 1977-78 to 1982-83 as members of the ECC. Two of Bucknell's four wins in the series came in 1902-03 and 1903-04.
