PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshman Tyreek Duren has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. Duren averaged nine points and six assists for the Explorers in two contests last week.

Duren began the week by scoring nine points and dishing seven assists in a 65-61 victory over Delaware State on Monday. He added two steals and committed only two turnovers in 37 minutes.

In a double-overtime loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday, Duren played a career-best 43 minutes and had nine points and five assists.

The freshman is averaging 7.4 points and 5.1 assists per game. He is second in the Atlantic 10 in assists per game.

This is the second time that Duren has won the award. He shares the honor this week with Dayton's Juwan Staten.

La Salle (5-3) visits Boston University on Thursday at 7 PM before hosting Villanova on Sunday at 2 PM (ESPNU).
