PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshmen Joe Beveridge and Alfredo Santana ran strong races on Saturday as they competed at the USA Cross Country Junior Nationals in Spokane, WA.
The two ran identical 25:28 races to finish 16th and 17th overall out of 35 runners in the eight kilometer race, topping strong competitors from Georgetown and NC State. They were just 1:24 off of Trevor Dunbar's (University of Portland) winning time of 24:04.
Santana's 25:28 marked the best time of his freshman year. His best until date was 25:31 at Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational on October 2. Beveridge's 25:28 was also the best since Lehigh, where he ran an 8K time of 25:14.
