PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swimming Coaches' Association of America (CSCAA) for continued success in the classroom. The Explorers achieved a team grade point average of 3.26 for the fall semester and were named a Scholar All-American team.
The Explorers were one of five Atlantic 10 women's squads to earn the academic distinction, which requires a team GPA of at least 3.0. They join George Washington, with a league-leading 3.48 team GPA, along with Xavier, Richmond and Fordham on the Scholar All-America roll.
The team also earned the distinction for both semesters of the 2008-09 season.
This year's squad includes seven members who earned over a 3.5 for the fall semester, qualifying them for the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
