CHELTENHAM, PA - The La Salle men's tennis team captured its fifth straight victory, and first of the spring season, with a 5-2 victory over St. Francis (NY) on Wednesday at the Cheltenham Racquet Club. The Explorers won five of six singles matches to secure the win.

"The team is really working hard," assistant coach Ed Colfer, Sr. said. "We had a good practice on Tuesday to prepare for St. Francis and came out strong."

Junior George Gennaoui won 6-4, 6-2 at #1 singles and sophomore Bill Nason had a 6-3, 6-4 win at #2 signles. Senior Jon Maula had a tough three-set victory, 6-3,4 -6, 6-1 at #3 and Trevor Donovan won 6-0, 6-2 at #4. Sophomore Fernardo Tovia was the final Explorer to win at #5 by a score of 6-1, 6-1.

La Salle improves to 9-2 this season and hosts one of the A-10's top teams tomorrow in Richmond at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
