PHILADELPHIA -
La Salle senior Rodney Green has been selected to play in the Reese's College All-Star Game as part of Final Four weekend in Indianapolis. He is one of 20 seniors selected to play in the event, which tips off at 4:35 PM on Friday, April 2, at Lucas Oil Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports.
"It is a great honor to be selected to play in this all-star game," Green said. "I'm really looking forward to it."
"Rodney was one of 20 outstanding seniors in the nation selected to this prestigious game," La Salle head coach Dr. John Giannini said. "It will be well attended and televised nationally which gives Rodney and our program tremendous exposure. We are obviously very proud of Rodney."
The teams will be coached by former Purdue head coach Gene Keady and former Indiana State head coach Bill Hodges, who led the Sycamores and Larry Bird to the 1979 NCAA Championship game.
"Rodney follows Steve Smith, who played in the 2006 All-Star Game, and Darnell Harris, who won the 2008 three-point shooting contest at the Final Four," Giannini said.
Green led the Explorers with an 18.5 scoring average, ranking third in the Atlantic 10, in 2009-10. The Philadelphia native also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in his final campaign. Green ends his career ninth on the all-time points (1,914) and assists (390) lists at La Salle.
The remainder of the rosters will be announced next week.
