The softball team is on the road this week, heading south to face Maryland-Baltimore County, but this past weekend they held their first Homerun Derby at the West Campus Field on Saturday, April 10. The event raised approximately $2,000 which will greatly benefit equipment, recruiting and travel expenses.
Team members had friends and family pledge an amount between $.01 to $1 per foot or submit a flat pledge. Below are the results:

Overall, the event was a success. Head Coach Brianne Brown noted, "The girls had a great time, it was fun and it was a great fundraiser. It also helped warm the bats up for our games against Saint Louis on Sunday."
The softball team will be holding a reception this Saturday, April 17 at Finnigan's Wake at 3rd and Spring Garden St. from 5-8 p.m. Come out and support the team, tickets cost $30 ($35 at the door) and include food and beverage.
