PHILADELPHIA - Senior Korey Edwards grabbed his 1,500 meter qualification time at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University this weekend. Several distance runners competed at Princeton while the remainder of the team competed at the two-day Widener Invitational.
Edwards ran a 3:50.50 in qualifying for the IC4A Championship. He placed 18th out of 73 runners in a race that featured 19 qualifying times. Also in the race was Nick Crits, who clocked a 3:51.91 for 26th.
Dave Hausherr and Sean Ward represented the Explorers in the 5K as both finished in the top of a fast race that saw 27 qualifications. Hausherr placed 28th with a time of 14:38.69 and Ward finished 45th with a 14:47.26.
In the 800 meter race was Terence McPeak and Dave Laratta. McPeak clocked a 1:54.91 and Laratta followed up with a 1:56.28.
On the women's side, four Explorers ran the 1,500 meters including Stephanie Bearish, Caitlin Storbeck, Samantha Gallagher and Wendy Hutchinson. Bearish was the first Explorer, running a 4:36.71 for 30th out of 62 runners. Storbeck was right behind in 4:37.25 followed by Gallagher with a 4:39.88. Hutchinson rounded out the race with a 4:42.52.
Kellilyn Fierras was also in action, finishing in the top half of the 800 meter race with a time of 2:16.36.
The remainder of the track and field squad competed at the Widener Invitational between Friday and Saturday. Complete Widener Invite information to follow.
