PRINCETON, N.J. - The men's 4x800 meter relay squad advanced to Sunday's event final via a second place finish in the preliminaries on Saturday afternoon.

Nick Crits, Paul Reilly, Terence McPeak and Trevon Rainford combined to run a 7:33.11 for second in Heat 5 and ninth overall out of 25 teams. Saint Joseph's won the heat in 7:31.49 and Connecticut came in first overall in 7:30.51. The Explorers will compete for the title at approximately 2:50 PM on Sunday.

The women's 4x800 was also in action, missing the finals by just 64-hundredths of a second. Wendy Hutchinson, Samantha Gallagher, Stephanie Bearish and Kellilyn Fierras combined to clock a 9:04.18 for fifth in their heat. Connecticut also won the women's prelim, with an 8:53.30.

Crits also competed in the 1500m on Saturday, running a 3:56.70 in a fast race that saw all advancers post sub-3:50 times. He placed 28th overall out of 36.

McPeak and Dave Laratta competed in the 800m prelims. McPeak ran a 1:52:84 and Laratta clocked 2:00.63.
