PHILADELPHIA - Womenslacrosse.com has named freshman Lauren McDermott to its All-Rookie Squad. The Lansdale, PA native finished the season with 34 goals and five assists. Her 54 points are the third highest all-time point total by a freshman at La Salle.

"It's a great honor for a La Salle women's lacrosse player to be recognized on a national stage," head coach Candace Taglianetti said. "McDermott had an exceptional first year of college lacrosse; however I believe that is just the beginning of what she is going to be accomplishing over the next three years."

McDermott also took home Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year accolades, the third Explorer all-time to earn that recognition. In addition, McDermott was named to A-10 All-Rookie Team, as well as Second Team All-A-10.
