PHILADELPHIA – La Salle alum Vernon Goodridge is now set to play summer ball with the Philadelphia 76ers, as he was named to the 2010 summer league roster. The team will play in the AirTran Airways Pro Summer League at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, FL, from July 5-9.
Goodridge joins the Sixers' last three first round draft picks, including Marreese Speights (2008), Jrue Holiday (2009) and this year's second pick overall Evan Turner from Ohio State.
As an Explorer in 2008-09, Goodridge averaged 6.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, while ranking sixth in the Atlantic 10 and first on the team in blocked shots per game (1.63). He shot 57.9 percent overall on 84-for-145 shooting, including a 63.5 percent clip in Atlantic 10 play.
The squad will participate in a three-day mini-camp in Orlando starting July 1 before opening summer play on July 5 at 7:00 PM, when they face the New Jersey Nets. They face the Philadelphia 76ers to open summer play on July 5 at 7:00, and will also face Boston, Oklahoma City, Charlotte and Utah throughout the week.
