PHILADELPHIA - Freshmen Leah Garrison and Chloe Trave will join the women's tennis squad for the upcoming season.
Garrison comes to La Salle after helping her St. John's College High School team to four Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championships and a flawless conference record over that four-year period. Garrison went undefeated in both singles and doubles play during her freshman campaign. The Lanham, Md. native was also a three-time Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention.
"I'm excited about the new opportunity provided to me by joining the La Salle community," Garrison said. "I'm really looking forward to becoming an integral part of the team's success."
Garrison is member of the National Spanish Honor Society and plans to major in Accounting at La Salle.
Trave joins the Explorers from Atlantic City High School in New Jersey. She compiled an 81-7 career record and earned Team MVP, First Team Cape-Atlantic All-Stars, First Team All-South Jersey, First Team All-Group IV and The Press of Atlantic City All-Star honors in both her junior and senior seasons. This past spring, her team won the South Jersey Group IV Championships.
A Margate, NJ native, Trave joins former Atlantic City teammate and current Explorer Pearl Wilkins at La Salle.
"I can't wait to become part of a whole new team, with the opportunity to succeed and meet lifelong friends," Trave said. "I'm ready to spend the next four years as a LaSalle Explorer."
Trave is a member of the National Honors Society and graduated in the top five-percent of her high school class.
The Explorers begin their fall season with a home match against West Chester on September 11.
