PHILADELPHIA - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association has named recent graduates Jill Davis and Elizabeth Iacullo and seniors Mara Schnellenbach and Brittany White to its 2010 Academic Honor Roll. All four athletes were also members of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll during the 2009-2010 academic year.
Included on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were 151 lacrosse student-athletes from 62 schools.
Earlier this summer Davis was named the IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. After adding 40 goals and 14 assists during her senior campaign, Davis is currently ranked sixth all-time in career goals scored and tied for fifth all-time in career points at La Salle.
Davis became the first La Salle women's lacrosse player to be tabbed a CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American. The education major was also named A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year in women's lacrosse, ECAC women's lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area Women's Lacrosse Performer of the Year and the La Salle University Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Iacullo, who received a degree in Art History in May, finished her senior season with 18 ground balls, seven draw controls and six turnovers. She started every game during both her junior and senior campaigns.
Schnellenbach currently sits fifth all-time in career minutes in goal at La Salle with 1,100. A communications major, Schnellenbach saw time in three contests for the Explorers in the spring.
White, an elementary and special education major, appeared in all 16 games for the Explorers in 2010. The Farmingdale, NY native picked up six ground balls and caused two turnovers during the season.
The IWLCA Academic Honor Roll members must have achieved at least junior year status academically and were chosen based on nominations by their respective schools.
Last week the IWLCA honored La Salle as an Academic Squad for achieving a team grade point average of a 3.0 or better during the 2010 season.
