Women's Soccer Thanks Alums And Announces More Events

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle Women's Soccer hosted its first event of the fall, which was held Sunday, Aug 22 prior to its home opener against Canisius and 19 former Explorers came back to take part in the Alumnae Game. The staff also wants to announce additional upcoming Women's Soccer events.

This coming Tuesday, Aug. 31, the Explorers return home for its second game of the season at McCarthy Stadium which will be preceded by a Free BBQ for students that begins at 6 PM, with the game starting at 7 PM. For more information on this event click here.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, both Men's and Women's Soccer have combined to host an event at a Philadelphia Union game against Chivas USA. For more information on this event click here.

Lastly, the staff would like to announce that on Friday, Oct. 22, the Explorers are looking to host another Alumnae event when the team battles Richmond at 7 PM. Please contact Amy Hough (email: hougha1@lasalle.edu; phone: 215-951-1523) for more information.

As for the Alumnae Game, the following alums were in attendance: (pictured, front row) Ally Kenney '10, Erin Casey '04, Colleen (Farrell) Hemberger '04, Rachael (Tobin) Vogt '04, and Krista Parson '00; (back row) Kim Voorhees '10, Amy (Grant) Hough '09, Dana Gavaghan '00, Erin (Lenox) Quinn '00, Kaitlin (Glass) Ross '01, Jessica (Eisele) Moore '04, Liz (Schmidt) Gavrys '03, Tracey Spinelli '00, Trisha (Gauss) Kelly '02, and Kim Lisun '08. Those that missed the picture but attended the event, included Lauren Cittadino '10, Sara Copare '10, Carissa Philips '10, and Kate Seward '02.

"We would like to deeply thank all the alumnae who took part in our annual Alumnae Game as well as all their support during our first game against Canisius," said Head Coach Paul Royal. "It was also invaluable for our current Explorers to see the past alum's pride and passion towards La Salle University and our Women's Soccer program. It's really amazing how many of them have stayed connected to the game."

La Salle (1-0) is currently heading to Burlington, Vermont for the TD Bank Classic. They face New Hampshire on Friday at 1 PM and then take on the host Vermont Catamounts on Sunday at 1:30 PM.
