In its first match of the season, the La Salle volleyball team fell to Delaware, 25-12, 25-13, 25-13.
After Delaware took the first set, the Explorers came out strong in the second, trading the first several points with the Blue Hens. In the third set, La Salle fell behind early on the serving of Delaware’s Greta Gibboney.
Sophomore Samantha Tulskie led Explorers’ attack with nine kills and also contributed eight digs. Kourtney Clark added eight assists and Breanna Mazelewski tallied 15 digs.
For the Blue Hens, Kim Stewart registered kills on the afternoon and Alissa Alker added nine.
The Explorers will take the court again this evening at 7:00 pm in their first match of the La Salle Invitational.
The tournament will kick off at 4:00 pm today with a match between Niagara and Hartford.
