Sept. 26, 2010

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - Ryan Richter scored two quick goals in the first half, but Marist rallied back in the second half as the Explorers dropped a 4-2 decision on the road on Sunday afternoon.

Richter netted unassisted goals in the 21st and 24th minutes to put the Explorers up 2-0. His first score was a dribble into the box followed by a kick from the right side about six yards out. He again found the back of the net three minutes later when he rocketed the ball from 20 yards and it ricocheted off the left post into the net.

The home squad cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 34th minute on Krystian Witkowski's unassisted shot, and scored three more unanswered goals in the second half en route to the final score. James Curley scored in the 67th minute on a pass from Lucas Szabo to tie the score, and Witkowski scored his second of the game on a penalty kick in the 78th minute. Alex George scored the final goal with just over three minutes remaining.

Richter and Dan Korenyi led the Explorers with four shots apiece, and Curley led all players with six shots. The Red Foxes held a 29-16 advantage on shots, including a 17-5 clip in the second half.
