REHOBOTH BEACH, DE - Juniors Randy Kurzinsky and Tyler Batory carded a 77 and 78, respectively, to lead the La Salle golf team at the rain-shortened Rehoboth Beach Invitational on Monday at Kings Creek Country Club. Kurzinsky finished 31st in the 72-player field while Batory was 35th.
Freshman Chris Costantino shot an 82 (+11) to tie for 56th, followed by classmates Mike Johnson (84, 60th) and Tom Horgan (88, 69th).
La Salle shot a 321 as a team to finish 11th. The event was shortened from 36 holes to 18 due to rain. Maryland won the team title with a 281 (-3) followed by host Penn (295) and Iona (299). Maryland's John Popek carded a two-under 69 to win the individual title by one stroke over three competitors.
The Explorers will head to the Swartmore Invitational on October 4.
