PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Women's Soccer goalkeeper Gabby Pakhtigian has been named the La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance for the Explorers over the past week, which included helping La Salle to the Hartford Tournament title.

For the week, Pakhtigian went 2-1 with a 0.94 goals allowed average and a 75.0 save percentage. However, the North Wales, PA native lowered her GAA to 0.46 and increase her save% to 85.7 over the weekend.

She picked up her second shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over the host Hartford on Friday night, as she increased her career number to five, which is already sixth all-time at the school.

On Sunday against Central Connecticut State, Pakhtigian allowed just a penalty kick and made four saves on her way to a 2-1 double overtime victory, which improved her to 4-2 this season and 8-4 in her career in the Blue and Gold.

She has started every game this season for the Explorers, who return to the field after having almost a week off. They travel to Baltimore this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 12 to face on Loyola (MD) with a start time of 11 AM (a time change from earlier this season).
