PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore goalie Gabby Pakhtigian was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women’s Soccer Team, as announced by the publication today.

Pakhtigian compiled a 3.97 cumulative GPA while playing every minute between the pipes this season.  She is one of 15 women honored by the Inquirer.  West Chester's Jessica Bennett earned the Performer of the Year distinction.  

The North Wales, Pa. native posted a 1.49 goals against average and .754 save percentage.  She lead the A-10 with 104 saves on the season and tallied 11 wins, which tied her for the most by a La Salle goalie in program history.

Pakhtigian helped the Explorers into the semifinals of the Atlantic-10 Tournament and made six saves in La Salle’s 2-1 win over Duquesne in the quarterfinals.  

Pakhtigian was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team, the only sophomore on the honor roll.
