The women's basketball team will face No. 7 Xavier tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Cintas Center.

The Musketeers are the highest-ranked opponent the Explorers will have faced and the third time this season that the team will square off against a Top 25 opponent.  La Salle played then No. 13 Georgetown and then No. 19/22 Maryland earlier this year.

The Explorers are coming off a 73-64 A-10 victory over George Washington.  Ashley Gale netted 26 points, while Jess Koci had 12 rebounds.  Michea Bryant chipped in 11 assists, the most by an Explorer since Shaune McLaughlin added 11 against Rhode Island on January 3, 2006.

Xavier enters the contest on a seven-game winning streak and has defeated its opponents by an average of 17.6 points this season, good for first in the A-10 and 17th in Division I.  Besides scoring margin, the Musketeers are also at the top of the A-10 in field goal percentage (.451) and rebounding margin (+11.3) and are tied for the top position in assist/turnover ratio (1.1).

Both Amber Harris (19.6 ppg/10.5 rpg) and Ta'Shia Phillips (14.6 ppg/13.1 rpg) average double-doubles for the Musketeers.
