Austin Thomas took home the gold in the 50-free and two school records were set as both the men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams sit in fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championships after two days of competition.
Thomas swam a 20.45 in the 50-free to win the event.
Holly Biro, who already broke her own 50-free school record in the morning session, lowered it even further in the finals, clocking in at 23.37 to finish fourth.
The women’s 200-free relay (1:34.70) took second and broke the school record set last season. Biro, Katie Snee, Alex Stoddart and Aubrey Cefalo made up the relay team.
Emily Heath took fifth in 500 free (4:54.29) and Charlie Zettel notched the same finish in the 200 IM (1:52.42).
The men’s 200-free relay came in fifth (1:23.32) behind swims by Thomas, Goan, Dave Derr and Edward Carnes
In the consolation finals, Zach Anderson finished second in the 500-free (4:37.47), while Greg Fischer came in eighth (4:44.18).
Kyle Goan took fifth in 50-free consolation finals (21.17), Tom Lawrie finished fifth in 500-free consolation final (1:55.33).
Katie Snee and Elizabeth Jordan rounded out the performers with seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively in the 50-free consolation (24.10).
The action picks up tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with preliminary rounds.
