NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After going 2-0 in goal for the Explorers on the week and compiling a .563 save percentage, lacrosse junior goalkeeper Megan Corliss has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office today.

Corliss allowed six goals and made seven saves to help the Explorers post a 17-6 win over Iona at McCarthy Stadium last Wednesday.

On Saturday, the Bluebell, Pa. native made 11 stops, while allowing eight goals as La Salle defeated Lafayette, 9-8, in Easton, Pa.

Corliss ended the week with a GAA of 7.28.

The Explorers will look to extend their win streak to three games when they face Villanova at home on Friday evening.  The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
