PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle Athletic Department celebrated its academic success on Wednesday, February 2, in conjunction with the men's basketball game versus Temple. Student-athletes and teams that received accolades this fall were recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

Did you know?

• Two soccer players earned Scholar All-America Region recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and one received Academic All-America from Capital One/CoSIDA.

• Five athletes earned Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area honors this fall, while five were named to Academic All-Atlantic 10 teams.

• Two more student-athletes received CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District.

• The La Salle women's soccer team posted the top GPA by a women's team (3.41) while the men's tennis team had the highest GPA (3.22) by a men's team during the fall semester.

• La Salle student-athletes also had higher GPAs than the student body as a whole.

• Over 250 student-athletes had GPAs of 3.25 or above during the fall semester and were invited to a pre-game reception before the men's basketball game.

• The Explorers graduation success rate (GSR) of is higher than the Division I national average of and the federal graduation rate of student-athletes exceeds that of La Salle students.
