La Salle Explorers (11-13, 3-6 A-10)

La Salle will play its second straight national television (CBS College Sports) game on Wednesday when it visits Saint Louis at 9 PM (Eastern). The Explorers have been led of late by junior Earl Pettis, who had a career-high 24 points vs. Dayton on Saturday.
Pettis has made his last 29 free throws dating back to the second half against Towson (Dec. 29). He is averaging 15.0 ppg. over his last four contests and has set or tied his career-high in points four times this season.
Aaric Murray (15.1 ppg., 7.8 rpg.) is third all-time at La Salle in blocks (120) and needs one to pass Rasual Butler and move into second place all-time.
Cole Stefan is averaging 7.9 ppg. in 17.1 mpg. over his last nine games and shooting 19-for-45 from three-point range (.422).
Jerrell Williams (13.5 ppg., 7.6 rpg.) and Ruben Guillandeaux (12.4 ppg.) both average double-figures for the Explorers.

The Billikens come into tonight's game having dropped three of four and are
tied with the Explorers with a 3-6 Atlantic 10 record (8-14 overall).
Kyle Cassity leads the way for head coach Rick Majerus at 9.6 ppg., while Mike
McCall adds 9.3. SLU is second in the A-10 in scoring defense (61.9 ppg.) but
are last in scoring offense (61.5 ppg.)
The Series
Of the 11 meetings, four have been at neutral sites...Six of the meetings were prior to 1963...The first meeting was in the 1951 NIT First Round at Madison Square Garden, a 73-61 SLU win...La Salle made a trip to Saint Louis in 1952, the year it
won the NIT Championship, but fell 62-46, one of just seven losses on the season...The two teams played twice in 1953-54, the season La Salle won the NCAA Championship behind Tom Gola...They played in the Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden in December (77-63, LAS) and at Philadelphia's Convention Hall in
February (96-82, LAS).
