The La Salle men's basketball team will play in Tom Gola Arena for the final time in the regular season when it hosts Fordham on Wednesday at 7 PM. The Explorers are coming off their best defensive performance of the season in a 72-51 win over Massachusetts on Sunday.
The Explorers are ranked in the top three in four offensive categories in the Atlantic 10. (Offensive Rebounding/14.3/1st; Rebounding/38.4/2nd; Scoring/76.4/2nd; FT Pct./.717/3rd.
Freshman Tyreek Duren needs four steals to set the program record for steals by freshman. He is third in the A-10 in steals/game (1.8) and seventh nationally among freshmen.
La Salle set season low's in points allowed (51) and opponents FG pct. (29.8%) in the 72-51 win over UMass. Those statistics were also the lowest for La Salle since a 65-44 win over UMass on Feb. 8, 2006.
Senior Jerrell Williams needs four rebounds to become the eighth Explorer with 1,000 points and 750 rebounds.
Duren is third on La Salle's freshman assist list with 126. He needs seven to pass Tabby Cunningham (2004-05) to move into second place.
Fordham Rams (6-20, 0-14 A-10)

Fordham has dropped 16 straight games to fall to 6-20 and 0-14 in the Atlantic 10. The Rams defeated current #15 St. John's, 84-81, at home on Dec. 11 for its best win of the season. Sophomore Chris Gaston, the reigning A-10 Rookie of the Year, leads Fordham by averaging a double-double (15.7 ppg., 11.0 rpg.). He is sixth nationally in rebounding.
The Series
La Salle leads the all-time series 31-12, including 14-1 at home and 5-1 at Gola Arena. The Explorers have also won three straight in the series. La Salle's 1954 national champions began its run to the title with an overtime win over Fordham in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
