PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle will play its first weekend home series of the season beginning this afternoon with a mathcup against Manhattan.  

The Explorers (7-8) will continue the homestand on Saturday with a doubleheader against St. Peters followed by a Sunday afternoon matchup against New York Tech.

"We are excited to get into the meat of our home schedule," said head coach Mike Lake.  "It's nice to be back on campus."

La Salle finished up an eight-game spring break road trip last weekend by taking two of three from Morehead State before returning home on Tuesday to defeat Coppin State in their second home contest of the season.

This weekend's home series marks a stretch for La Salle that will see them play 11 of their next 12 games at Hank DeVincent Field including next weekend's Atlantic 10 opener against Fordham.

The Explorers will not play another road game until a March 29 matchup against Big 5 rival Penn. 

First pitch in Friday's series-opener against Manhattan is scheduled for 3 p.m.

RHP Kevin Fuqua (1-3, 4.21) will start for La Salle.  He will be opposed by Manhattan RHP John Soldinger (2-1, 2.62)
