PHILADELPHIA -
The men's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring season, defeating Elizabethtown, 5-2, on the courts on the campus of La Salle University.
"Everyone's playing well," head coach Ed Colfer said. "We're working towards our goals for the season."
Chas Berenato, Joseph LaBate, Trevor Donovan, Fernaando Tovia and Hunter Selman all notched victories in No. 2-6 singles, respectively.
Mikel Kosich, playing at No. 1 singles for the first time this spring, fell 6-3, 6-2.
In the doubles competition, Kosich and Selman dominated the duo of Eric Fritzges and Dylan Haefner of Elizabethtown at No. 3 singles, winning 8-0. The Explorers pushed their opponents at No. 1 and 2, but couldn't pull out victories to win the doubles point for La Salle.
The Explorers were also in action yesterday, falling to Loyola (MD) by a score of 7-0 in Baltimore, Md.
