PHILADELPHIA, PA - With seven RBI and a number of clutch hits, Jon Gyles has been named La Salle's Student Athlete of the Week. 

The Doylestown native went 5-for-16 (.313) with a double and seven RBI this past week, helping La Salle win all five of their games.  

Gyles' best performance came on Friday against Manhattan.  Trailing 5-0 heading to the ninth, Gyles capped off a furious six-run rally with a walk-off two-run single to give La Salle the dramatic victory.  

In Saturday's doubleheader against Saint Peter's Gyles connected on a bases-clearing three-run double and finished with four RBI in another dramtic 7-6 walk-off game that lasted 10 innings.  

Overall Gyles reached base safely 11 times during the week with five hits, four walks and two hit by pitches.
