PHILADELPHIA - The 9th Annual "Friends of Bill Raftery" Golf Outing will be held at North Hills Country Club on Monday, June 20, 2011. ESPN and CBSP college basketball analyst Bill Raftery '63 will once again serve as Honorary Chairman for the Golf Outing. The outing is coordinated by the "Friends of Bill Raftery" Golf Committee, led by co-chairmen Frank Corace '64 and Bill DeMarco '62, in collaboration with La Salle Athletics. Funds raised during the golf outing directly benefit the La Salle Men's Basketball Team.

At the "Friends of Bill Raftery" Golf Outing, the committee will be honoring Sidney J. MacLeod, Jr., A.F.S.C., M.F.A, Assistant Professor in La Salle's Communication Department. Sid has received numerous awards in the field of Communication and in 1994, earned a Distinguisher Lasallian Educator award from La Salle. In 2000, the Christian Brothers made Sid an affiliated member of their own order, an honor given to only two other faculty members: Roland Holroyd and Joseph Flubacher.
