NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Freshman Michael Johnson was the medalist with a 73 as the La Salle golf team opened its spring season by dropping a dual match at Christopher Newport by one stroke. Junior Tyler Batory had a 78 and freshman Chris Costantino added an 81.

Junior Ed Carnes, fresh off a successful swimming season, shot an 83 while freshman Tommy Horgan carded a 85.
