PHILADELPHIA, PA - After throwing his second quality start of the season last weekend against Duke, LHP Eric Van Wyk has been named La Salle Student Athlete of the Week. 

The junior went six shutout innings against the Blue Devils in game two of a dobuleheader last Saturday and allowed only five hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Through two starts in 2011, Van Wyk has posted a miniscule 0.75 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.  The southpaw has allowed only one earned run so far this season.
