PHILADELPHIA - The men’s tennis team dropped its two remaining regular season matches to Villanova and NJIT by identical scores of 7-0 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Against NJIT at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center on Sunday morning, Trevor Donovan fell 6-4 in his first set at No. 5 singles, picked up a 6-3 win in the second before falling 10-8 in the tiebreaker.

The Explorers couldn't muster another set victory over the Highlanders.

La Salle was swept in both singles and doubles competition against Villanova on the Wildcats’ campus.

The Explorers will advance to the 2011 Atlantic 10 Men’s Tennis Championships in Saint Louis, Mo. Beginning on Friday. The seeding for the tournament will be announced on Tuesday.
