Philadelphia, PA – The Friends of Bill Raftery Golf Outing to support La Salle University men’s basketball will tee off on Monday, June 20th at North Hills Country Club. However, the 9th annual edition of the popular event will have an added twist.
This year participants are invited to bid on the privilege of playing with the outing’s namesake Bill Raftery ’63 or this year’s honored guest – the great Sid Macleod. Threesomes can bid to have Bill or Sid round out their group by emailing ExplorerClub@lasalle.edu or calling 215 951-1545.
Raftery is widely recognized as one of the finest color analysts in college basketball through his television work on ABC, CBS and ESPN and radio duties with Westwood One. Raftery just completed his latest assignment covering the Final Four with John Thompson in Houston.
Macleod has become known as one of the most recognizable and beloved fixtures in the La Salle community through over 50 years of service as a professor in the Communication and English Departments at the University.
