Saturday's rain made conditions difficult and Sunday's wind was almost as challenging as the La Salle golf team finished up competition at the Navy Spring Invitational. Junior Ed Carnes was the top Explorer, placing 48th with a 77-82=159 (+17).
Freshman Michael Johnson had the top round of the day by a La Salle player with a 78. His 83 on Saturday gave him a 161 (+19) for the weekend to finish 62nd.
Junior Tyler Batory (81-86=167), freshman Tommy Horgan (83-85=168), and freshman Chris Costantino (91-90=181) rounded out the La Salle lineup.
The Explorers shot a 331 on Sunday as a team after a 324 on Saturday to finish 17th with a 655.
TCU won the team title with a 302-284=586 (+18) besting Columbia by 11 strokes. Lafayette finished third followed by Rhode Island and Navy, which tied for fourth.
Navy's Ben Hayes followed a first round 75 with a 69 to earn medalist honors by one stroke with a two-over 144. Columbia's Clark Granum finished second with a three-over, 73-72=145.
La Salle will have one more tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship on April 26 when it heads to the Peacock Invitational, hosted by Saint Peter's.
