PHILADELPHIA, PA - Meghan McGlinchey has been named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for her oustanding performance in the 5,000-meter run on Friday in the Larry Ellis Night Races at Princeton.
McGlinchey posted a remakrable time of 16:27.76, the second fastest time in La Salle history in the event.
The sophomore already qualified for ECAC's in the 5k last month when she posted a 16:42.03 at the Stanford Invitational and her most recent time is ranked in the top 60 nationally and could qualify her for the NCAA Regionals.
The West Deptford, NJ native is competing in her first outdoor track season after redshirting in 2010. McGlinchey did compete in the 2009 cross country season and is a sophomore academically despite her rookie status in outdoor track.
