Penn Relays Day One Update

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Four events for La Salle competed on day one of the Penn Relays on Thursday at Franklin Field. 

The only men's performer of the day, David Hausherr had the highest finish for any Explorer and posted the top time by a La Salle runner in the 10,000-meter championship with a mark of 30:14.23.  Hausherr's time was good enough for 10th place overall, less than a minute behind the winner, Auburn's Ben Cheruiyot. 

On the womn's side, Dominique Best had a strong performance in the long jump, posting an 18th place finish with a distance of 5.34m, her second best mark recorded this spring. West Virginia's Meghan Mock posted the top distance with a mark of 6.17m

Meghan Lutz recorded an 18th place finish in the women's 10,000-meter championship wtih a mark of 35:57.51, the best time posted by a La Salle outdoor athlete this season in the women's 10k.  Auburn's Hollie Knight paced the field in the event with a time of 34:10.98.

The final La Salle event was the first of eight relays that the Explorers will compete in.  The women's 4x100 finished in 72nd place with a time of 50.70.  

On Friday, four more La Salle relays will run with three scheduled on Saturday.  The list of remaining events for La Salle is below.  

Friday:
Men's 4x100 Heats (12:35 p.m.)
Men's 4x400 Wetzler/Pennslvania Region (5:25 p.m.)
Men's Distance Medley Championship of Ameirca (4 p.m.)
Women's 4x1500 Championship of Ameirca (1:30 p.m.)

Saturday:
Men's 4xMile Championship of Ameirca (1 p.m.)
Men's 4x800 Championship of America (4:25 p.m.)
Women's 4x800 Championship of America (1:30 p.m.)
