PHILADELPHIA, PA - Senior Kevin Fuqua has been named the Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Pitcher of the Week in addition to the GoExplorers.com Student Athlete of the Week, announced earlier today.  Fuqua pitched his most dominant game of the season, a complete game, four-hit shutout victory over Saint Louis back on Thursday night.  

Fuqua only walked one batter and struck out six in the dominating performance that propelled La Salle into the Atlantic 10 postseason.  

The honor marks the second time this season that Fuqua has been named the Big 5 pitcher of the week and the first time he has earned the A-10 weekly nod.  

Fuqua is also a first-time winner of the GoExplorers.com weekly honor and the fourth baseball player to be awarded this season by La Salle for a weekly performance.  

The right-hander still has his most important start in front of him, and will take the ball for what could be the final time when the baseball team opens play in the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship on Wednesday afternoon against Dayton at Campbell's Field.
