Alicia Grater, a three-time national champion and two-time All-American at the University of Maryland, is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach at La Salle. The Gilbertsville, PA native (Boyertown HS) helped the Terps to national titles in 2005, 2006 and 2008 as well as Atlantic Coast Conference championships in 2005, 2008 and 2009.
A second team NFHCA All-American as a senior, Grater posted a conference best 1.19 GAA and a .795 save percentage as the goalkeeper. She helped the Terps to a 23-1 record, a program best, with the only loss coming to North Carolina in the national championship game. She was also a first team all-region selection and team captain as a senior.
As a junior, Grater was named a third team All-American after posting a 1.24 GAA, good for 13th nationally. An All-ACC selection, she was in the cage for a 4-2 victory over Wake Forest in the 2008 national championship game. Her .740 save percentage ranked 24th nationally and she was named to the all-region first team.
Also a standout academically, the elementary education major was a second team academic all-district selection as a senior. She also earned spots on the Academic All-ACC team and NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Grater served as a Regional Futures Coach for three seasons and was a camp counselor at the Advanced Play Field Hockey Camp at Maryland and the Revolution Field Hockey Camp.
