Scott Yurgalevicz was promoted to director of golf and head men's & women's golf coach at La Salle, beginning with the 2017-18 school year and enters his ninth year at the helm of both programs in 2023-24.
Yugalevicz has improved both programs during his tenure. In 2019-20, the men's team posted an all-time best scoring average of 297.5 - the only sub-300 stroke average in program history. In the same year, David Kim averaged a 74.0 to tie PJ Acierno's single season record from 2016-17.
On the women's side, Yurgalevicz watched the first graduating class in program history walk across the stage. Marybelle Daclan set the program's all-time scoring mark (82.2) and single season tally (81.0) under Yurgalevicz's guidance. Over his first three years, he's recorded 10 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team selections.
Yurgalevicz spent two seasons under the tutelage of former head coach, Brad Kane, and played a role in lifting La Salle's men's golf program to new heights. During those seasons, the Explorers set program records in numerous individual and team categories, including best scoring average for a single year (301.7 in 2016-17). P.J. Acierno collected all three of his career individual titles over his final two seasons and the school mark with a 74.0 stroke average with Yugalevicz's mentoring.
Yurgalevicz also spent one season as the head men's golf coach at Rosemont College. Prior to his tenure at Rosemont, Yurgalevicz was the owner and head teaching professional at Yur Golf Swing at the Umbria Golf Center.
He also spent three years as an assistant golf professional at Radnor Valley Country Club, has been a certified golf instructor at GolfTec and has worked at DuPont Country Club and Chester Valley Golf Club.
An active member of the golf community, Yurgalevicz has been published by GolfWRX.com and in Golf Tips Magazine, a publication that recently named him a Top 30 Golf Instructor.
Yurgalevicz graduated from Villanova in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in pre-law. He and his wife, Angela, have three daughters - Julia, Madison, and Emily.
