Craig Bischoff was hired in August 2013 as an Assistant Coach for the La Salle rowing program, and enters his second season in 2014-15. He primarily assists with the first-year rowers as well as serves as recruiting coordinator.
In Bischoff's first season with the Explorers, each boat saw an improvement in their times from the beginning to the end of the season. With freshmen-laden varsity eight boats, the men's and women's V8's both advanced to reps at the historic Dad Vail Regatta in May.
Bischoff came to La Salle after a decade-long position at Saint Joseph's Prep. Joining the Prep in 2004, Bischoff earned several promotions and worked his way up from assistant novice coach to assistant varsity coach in charge of sculling and boatman. He was instrumental in forming a lifting program for the team and helped guide the squad to medals at the Stotesbury Regatta and Scholastic National Championship.
Bischoff served two years as the head novice coach at Saint Joseph's University from 2000-02 and had gotten his start in coaching with a one-year stint at Roman Catholic.
Bischoff was a four-year rower on the Saint Joseph's squad, rowing in the lightweight eight boat that won the Knecht Cup, Atlantic 10 Championship and Dad Vail. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in Accounting.
