Dan Lobacz begins his eighth year at La Salle University and third as Associate Athletic Director for External Relations in 2023.

At La Salle, Lobacz oversees the athletic department's external relations team, which includes communications, marketing, corporate sponsorships, digital media, and social media. Administratively, Lobacz is a member of the department's senior staff and is the administrator for the men's soccer, rowing, and women's lacrosse programs.

In addition, he is the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and serves on the Board of Trustees' Student Experience and Enrollment Committee.

Prior to coming to La Salle, Lobacz spent over a decade in New York City, including four-plus years at LIU Brooklyn. Lobacz was responsible for the communications, marketing and promotional efforts of the school's 19 Division I sport programs. During that time, he served as the main media contact for the LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team and facilitated all media requests during the team's run to a third straight NCAA Tournament.

He was a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Committee, an advisory group directly responsible for making recommendations on matters pertaining to institutional control of the athletics program. Lobacz was an active member of the Northeast Conference’s Sport Management Committee, a league-wide group of athletic administrators from across the conference tasked to provide the best student-athlete experience possible. In 2016, he served as co-chair of the softball committee for the NEC and was directly involved with the coordination of the 2016 Northeast Conference Softball Championship, hosted by LIU Brooklyn.

During his time at LIU, Lobacz oversaw a transformation of the media relations office. He was responsible for initiating and developing all social media platforms for the athletic department, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Lobacz also implemented live webstreaming of all home athletic events for the first time in LIU Brooklyn history in 2012-13 through the NEC Front Row Digital Network.

Lobacz went back to LIU, where he served as a graduate assistant, after working at Columbia University from 2008-11. While with the Ivy League school, he was responsible for spearheading new video initiatives and successfully pitched stories to ESPN.com, the New York Times, and the YES Network. The Westfield, N.Y. native also served as the coordinator of photography, the department liaison with the athletics development team, and worked closely with the marketing department on designs for promotional materials.

A 2003 graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Lobacz received his master’s degree in sport administration from Canisius College in 2005 and earned his M.B.A. at LIU Brooklyn, with a concentration in finance, in 2008. He resides in Aston, Pa., with his wife, Andrea, and his daughter, Natalie.
