Kevin Coleman enters his first season as an assistant coach at La Salle. Coaching runs in Coleman's blood as his father Jim Coleman spent 20 years on the sidelines as an Explorer coach. Kevin was a standout player at La Salle, graduating in 2005.
He was named to the NSCAA All-American Third Team in 2004-05 as he led the team in points with 14 total. He was second in assists with six and netted four goals throughout the 2004 season. Coleman was a member of a defensively charged backfield that recorded seven shut outs. Coleman led his team to the Atlantic 10 tournament for the first time in seven years. Following the 2004 season Coleman was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and earned a spot on the Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Star team. Coleman was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team following an impressive freshman campaign and also earned All-Conference Second Team honors in 2003.
After college he played professionally for Virginia Beach of the USL 1 League. Club experience includes the FC Delco Arsenal- winning back to back national championships, as well as the Reading Rage of the PDL. Coleman's previous coaching experience includes one season as an assistant coach at Penncrest High School. He is currently working on a Master's degree in education from La Salle. Coleman resides in Manayunk, PA.
