Josh Schofield

Josh Schofield, who has 12 years of tennis coaching experience at the Division I and Division III levels, is in his second season as the head men's and women's tennis coach at La Salle.
 
Schofield arrives at La Salle having coached 11 years at Swarthmore College, serving as the assistant men's tennis coach (2003-06, 2008-11), acting head men's tennis coach (2011-12) and associate head men's tennis coach (2012-15). He also served as the assistant men's tennis coach at Penn for one season.
 
While at Swarthmore, the Garnet reached the NCAA Division III Tournament three times and advanced to the Round of 16 in 2004 and 2005 and the Quarterfinals in 2006. Swarthmore finished in the top 25 nationally twice during Schofield's tenure.
 
In the past three years as the associate head coach, Swarthmore compiled a 22-5 record in Centennial Conference matches, falling in the conference championship match in two of those seasons.
 
An accomplished tennis player in his own right, Schofield has won several tennis titles, including the USTA 30s national grass singles championship. This spring, he represented the United States at the International Tennis Federation Young Seniors World Team Championships in Turkey. He is currently a member of the USTA Men's 35 National Team.
 
A 2001 graduate of Villanova with a bachelor's degree in history and Russian area studies, Schofield was a member of the men's tennis team. He earned Big East Academic All-Star status twice. He later earned master's degrees from Florida State (Russian and Eastern European studies, 2003) and Temple (sport and recreation management, 2006).
